Being tired is one of the leading causes of crashes, and it does not attack one skill — fatigue affects all three stages of see-think-do. It makes you scan inaccurately, slows your thinking, and lengthens your reaction time. A tired driver is a driver whose two-second following distance has quietly become one second.
